Knoxville

Here are a few things we love about our hometown –

We’re a little old fashioned.  Our culture is friendly and welcoming.  Neighbors care about each other, look out for each other, and share life’s ups and downs.   We’ll loan you our truck if you need it.   The Volunteer moniker is not just part of history, it’s part of the present.

We’re pretty classy.  We’ve got The Symphony, the Knoxville Museum of Art, Broadway traveling companies and local thespians.  We’ve the Big Ears Music Festival and a constant stream  of other engaging entertainment and athletic events for all ages.  The Dogwood Arts Festival and the endless stream of enlightenment from The University of Tennessee are our pride and joy.

We value children.  Our public schools are outstanding and we have a number of excellent private schools in the area.  Our rec leagues serve children in every sport and every part of town.  We’re thankful for and proud of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, an amazing facility in downtown Knoxville with the finest pediatric specialists, as well as Urgent Care facilities strategically placed for after-hours visits.

The scenery.  It’s glorious.  If you don’t have your own stunning mountain view or lakefront property, you’ll likely pass some on your way home.  We are the gateway to the most visited national park in the country and have seven area lakes with a combined 2700 miles of shoreline.

Uptown, Downtown, Countryside, Lakeside, Mountaintops.  There’s a home here just for you and your family.  We’ll help you find it.

We play.  With over 45 Knox County Parks and 5 State Parks close by, healthy rec leagues, and a robust effort led by our Legacy Parks Foundation to continue adding protected green space with trails for bikers, hikers, and dreamers, we are all urged to “Get out and play!”

The weather.  We enjoy four distinct seasons with mostly moderate temperatures, each so beautiful that it’s hard to pick a favorite.

We’re easy to get to and easy to get around in.  The junction of I-40 and I-75 make travel NSEW a piece of cake; I-640, I-140 and alternate routes aid locals at rush hour; our airport is beautiful, efficient and easily accessed.

The Vols.  It’s our school.  It’s got something for everyone.  Go Big Orange!
